Surabaya, Indonesia – Gekrafs East Java held a music showcase event on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Waroeng Kembang Randoe Jetak, Jl. Raya Surabaya – Malang, Karang Jati, Kec. Pandaan, Pasuruan.
The event was a platform for young musicians in East Java to showcase their work to the public. The event was attended by 7 musicians and bands from various regions in East Java, including Pasuruan, Sidoarjo, Mojokerto, Bangkalan, and Surabaya.
The “Gekrafs Music Showcase” is a continuation of the Music Sharing event with Gekrafs Jatim which was previously held on August 12, 2022, at Belly Buddy Eatery, Ngagel, Surabaya. This ongoing activity is conceptualized as an incubation program, which aims to support young musicians in East Java to create and develop their careers.
“We hope that the music subsector can be the key to Indonesia’s future creative economy,” said Septriano Maulana, or often called Cak Rian, chairman of the Gekrafs East Java council. “In many other countries, music contributes greatly to the country, such as Korea with its K-pop. Therefore, we hope that Indonesia, which is ranked third in the creative economy, can rise higher with the development of our music subsector.”
The “Gekrafs Music Showcase” event was fully supported by Bingkai Karya, a media that helps musicians get media exposure, and Damai Production (D-Pro), which supports lighting and sound production.
With the support of various parties, it is hoped that the music subsector in East Java can be developed, from local to national scale.
Here is a list of the musicians and bands that performed at the “Gekrafs Music Showcase”:
- Picky Blind (Pasuruan)
- Arvinto Cindy (Sidoarjo)
- Keyplus (Mojokerto)
