Towards Indonesia’s Golden Generation: BSI and IPB Play an Active Role in Increasing Access to Education

WARTAINDONESIA EN – Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) and the Alumni Association of the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) have signaled their strong commitment to increasing access to education for the young generation of Indonesia through the Deposito Wakaf program.

This innovative program was launched on November 23, 2023 and has succeeded in collecting fund placement commitments of more than Rp 14 billion.

“BSI is committed to building the ZISWAF (zakat, infak, sedekah, & wakaf) ecosystem in Indonesia, and the Deposito Wakaf program is one of the real forms of our contribution,” said Anton Sukarna, Director of Sales and Distribution BSI. “Through this program, we want to help solve the education problem in Indonesia, especially for students who are experiencing economic difficulties.”

The Deposito Wakaf BSI Seri 01-Alumni IPB offers a sustainable solution to help IPB students who are less fortunate to complete their education. The funds collected from this program will be managed in accordance with Islamic law and the returns will be given to students in the form of scholarships.

“We want the young generation of Indonesia to have the same opportunity to get the best education, without being hindered by economic limitations,” said Anton. “The Deposito Wakaf program is an important initial step in realizing this aspiration.”

The Rector of IPB University, Arif Satria, welcomed the Deposito Wakaf BSI program. “IPB is always committed to helping and solving the educational problems of students who are less fortunate,” he said. “The collaboration with BSI and the IPB Peduli Alumni Foundation is proof of IPB’s commitment to helping its students.”

The Deposito Wakaf BSI program is open to all IPB alumni and the general public who want to contribute to increasing access to education in Indonesia. The minimum fund placement for this program is Rp 1 million with a deposit period of one year.
